after a little drive yesterday in the rain the ibiza started playing up, just a misfire now and then got alittle bit worse as the day went on but it still ran, came to it this morning key in turned over and over and over but just wouldn't go, so i checked afew things, turns out there isnt a spark. checked the dizzy cap looked abit nakered so i changed that along with the rotor arm and still nothing so i changed the coil and still wont spark! so im abit stumped at the moment! what i did notice tho was that when the ignition is turned on to position 2 it sparks once but while its turning over it wont spark at all! any ideas?

if any one has a wiring diagram for the ignition system that could be emailed to me that would be much appreciated. [email protected]

the problem seems to be there isnt any power going to centre wire on the coil plug either when the igition is on or when its cranking

Cheers

what motor is it by the way?

only thing i can suggest is the crank position sensor possibly, not cheap or indeed easy to replace but worth testing at least

i'll send ya a quick test if it helps and one for the coil etc

i did the tests last night, the crank postion sensor was knackered, had about an inch of bare wire at the sensor end and they wer all touching! so replaced that this morning and it still doesnt work!
So i rechecked the coil and there still isnt any power going to terminal 2 on the coil plug, was thinking maybe because all the wires had been touching might have shorted something? anymore ideas anyone?
Im going to try and get my mate to come round with his diagnostics computer and see what that brings up.

have you tried an led test on the amplifier connector 2/3 while it's cranking that will tell you if the wiring's good up to it then
