No Low Washer Warning

Just found out (after running out on a very mucky motorway) that my 07 FR Tdi does not have the low fluid level warning on the washer bottle. I do have the bluetooth option, would I have needed the winter pack option to get this function?

Would it be possible to retro fit ? Would I be correct in thinking that the wiring would be in place(common loom) and all that is needed is a bottle with the sensor and connected to the wiring loom at the right point.

Just got the cars 20 thou service done yesterday and they confirmed that the car does not have the low washer warning. BTW I had the stereo replaced under warranty last year due to faulty CD and subsequently the AUX function did not work. Dealer sorted easily saying it was not set up properly on installation, think it needed VAG-COM though.

Would appreciate any advice on retro fit of washer bottle

There is a thread on the randomness of the washer warning somewhere.

You 99% of the time get it with Xenons and maybe the winter pack as well.

Hey Dan would love to read your link if you can find it. As long as the job is not too involved I would probably give it a go.

Washer light appears on Xenon kit and winter kits with bluetooth i believe...

either that or just xenon kit ... one or the other.

100% if you have xenons you get the light, was a thread last year in which we tracked down exactly what you needed to get the light or not.

cheers

Appreciate answers on which models should have this option, has anyone got experience or knowledge of how this function could be retro fitted ?

if i'm reading this topic correctly all i can say is what a f**king disgrace, i've got a 58 fr and just assumed that the low level skoosher warning would be standard. is this yet something else we had on our mk1's that we don't on the all new 'improved' model???

i believe as others have said it is just on the car with xenons which isnt ideal especially due to the price of the car

Just to add more confusion, I have a 57 plate FR WITH the Winter Pack fitted AND Bluetooth AND NO LOW WASHER FLUID WARNING LIGHT [:@]
I guess its because you dont have xenons.

so that would mean xenons = washer warning light .. (unless anyone can correct that statement!)

There are several threads on it all and don't think I straight conclusion was ever made.
