Opinions please:

I'm looking at getting one of the following:

Uprated fuel pump (apr)
Milltek sports cat and downpipe.

What are peoples opinions?

I've already got REVO, milltek cat back, Dbilas and Forge Twintercooler.

My thoughts are:

Fuel pump will give most gain, but am concerned about cam lobe wear and relaibility implications it may bring.

The Milltek will give a bit more sound, allow hotter gases to get away from the turbo quicker keeping it healthy for longer, and a smaller increase in power. Although I may get the fuel cut with the milltek requiring me to turn the boost down negating any performance benefits.

fuel pump wont give any gains on its own. you will need another map.
it wont alter the cam lobe wear issue at all.

the miltek should give small gains without any other work.

if i were you id wait a bit and get both done together (along with new map).

Should have said I'm running stage 2 software at the moment, so all I will have to do is alter the boost settings with the map. But your probably right adding either on its own will see only see small improvements that may not even be felt through the butt dyno.

thought stage 2 requirement was a new downpipe and fuel pump?
could be wrong though??

you've started the exhaust part so might as well finish it imo. enjoy the extra power :)

Stage 2 + requires the fuel pump. Stage 2 requires the full TBE but my tuner JKM recommended that I could go stage 2 with current mods without any harm to the car. The result is slightly more power but the main difference is the power delivery is moved further up the rev range than stage 1.

HPFP should give noticable gains with your stg2 software. Do both.
Power should be available lower down the rev range?

The fuel pump itself will not give an increase. All it does is make sure there is not a shortfall of fuel pressure.

When you ramp up boost, the stock fuel pump cannot cope with the demand asked of it. If you are running standard revo settings of Boost 6, timing 4/5/6 and fuel 9, you should not see the boost come in enough to cause a fuel pressure shortfall. When there is a shortfall of fuel pressure, the ecu pulls back boost to make sure the car is not running lean.

The best thing to do would be to log the car and check channel 230 to see if there is any differential between requested and actual fuel pressure, but I think you will find there isnt, hence why I said downpipe.

An uprated downpipe will allow the turbo to spool up faster and will derestrict the exhaust system and therefore increase power.

You should probably have in an uprated downpipe to be able to take advantage of the higher boost you will be able to run when you fit the fuel pump.

By the way most places only sell the APR fuel pump which costs an arm and a leg, but you can still get the internals from some places at a much lower price.

Oh, and because you have Revo, you would be able to get your £50 upgrade to stage 2 which will indeed send power a bit further up the revs. Stage 2+ is another £50 upgrade when you get round to having the pump fitted.

With all those mods, you will be running quite close to 300bhp I would have thought.

Hope that helps :)
