Looks great :D Nice wheels and very tidy - shame about the Liverpool kit in the window ;) What plans have you got for it ? Lowering might be a good idea hun

I don't think I'm doing much to the look of my ride. All I've done externally is spray the bottom of the front bumper to colour-code it with the rest of the car. And also resprayed the alloys, which are a set of 15" MCM rims, that were originally white (to go with an earlier red MK1 Arosa in a vain attempt to resemble the Arosa Racer!)

My main area of expertise (or lack of it!) is ripping out and replacing the ICE. Currently I'm running a JVC DB711 DAB/MP3 head unit which is powering a pair of Sony 6" X 9"s on a Lupo Stealth Shelf. The factory door speakers are shot. Also I've got a Calibra 260Watt amp running a JBL 10" sub in the boot.

Change is in the air here. I've got some JVC 6" X 9"s and similar JVC 16cm door speakers on order. Think the amp and sub are coming out? Maybe, dunno yet. Have to experiment.......

This the the basic install I had in the back of my previous Lupo, but is exactly the same on my current Arosa. Sorry it's not that exciting.

No it was pre-built, I can't remember where I got the box from, but I bought the sub separately.

I also disconnected the tweeters on top of the dashboard, I find them utterly no use nor ornament. On my MK1 Arosa, I took the dash tweeters out also, but there was enough space left in the hole to install a couple of decent 3" Sony speakers, which sounded great. However, on the Lupo/Mk2, there's barely enough room to fit your thumb in the empty tweeter sockets, so I've left them blank.

My red Arosa was a Mk1 W-reg that began life somewhere in the West Midlands before someone in Liverpool bought it, then I picked it up from a local Ford dealer.

Like a lot of red Arosa owners, I desperately wanted it to look as much like the Racer prototype as possible. I was very happy with it until the water pump failed on a trip between Liverpool, Belfast, Limerick and Dublin - cost an absolute fortune over there to fix it up - and consequently the head-gasket was knackered too. Got it all fixed up, but I'd lost my nerve with it then and got the Lupo shown above.

Ahh - I went through that stage too, was thinking about white roof and mirrors, but now I have some black wheels so it wouldn't work together so I need a new plan ;)

I was a little sorry to see the red Arosa go to be honest, it looked fantastic and I rue not having a high-res camera for shots of it, because in hindsight getting the Lupo was a huge financial mistake for me. I barely had the Lupo 10 months before I swapped it for my current Arosa. The monthly repayments strangled me.

I was so naive but what I learnt about my red Arosa was it wasn't a touring car - I'd done 700 miles in a few days over Ireland. If I'd taken it steady, it wouldn't have broken down. It had the 50bhp 1.0 engine, which is fine around town but little use on the open road or motorways.

The 75bhp 1.4 engine on the Lupo was great on motorways and the like, but very thirsty around town. So as I do most of my mileage in urban areas, it made a certain amount of economic sense to swap to the smaller engine again on my current Arosa.

I wouldn't say its not a touring car! Mine is a 1.0 too, and I've done nearly 40k in 3 years, on motorways and backroads, to the Nurburgring and back (and round) and took 4 of us to Germany and back, laden with the requisite alcohol purchases of course ;)

They just need looking after and taking it steady - no point trying to race along the motorway at 80-90mph, I just sit at 60-70 and get there when I get there! :)

Very nice little arosa, like the wheels [B)]

You should post a few pics of it, and your old arosa in the post a pic of your arosa thread in the arosa section. We have got a little collection of members cars going on there :)
