Newbie with new Cupra 290 (pics)

Hi!
I’ve got my Leon Cupra 290. Picked it up yesterday and have spent yesterday and today detailing the crap out of it.

To be fair, the salesman who was great, threw in Autoglym Lifeshine as a gesture after I said I didn’t want to add it to the deal so I got the bag of Autoglym goodies. However, the cleanliness and application of the coating left a lot to be desired so I‘ve given it the full detail myself.

Lots of contaminants etc and amazing amount of mud from between the spokes of the wheels! However there’s hardly a mark on it, great condition underneath the dirt and tar. Plus I enjoyed doing it and now I get to drive it knowing it’s mint condition!

Here’s a few pics taken last night before today’s waxing cos it’s started hammering down hail stones so couldn’t get it out to photo again!

Thinking of getting black vinyl wrap badges to stick on. Then the only thing is the copper on the discs on the wheels which I don’t particularly mind. Less noticeable.

Only thing is I hope the car won’t look too bland then, grey and black.

I just plasti dipped mine then a coat of gloss black and they look great

I see. I’ve never used plastidip. Does black plastidip give a decent finish itself or do you apply paint on top? And if so, what type of paint did you use?

I’m still swithering.

There appears to be a few replacement badge options kicking about from searching old threads (Shapeways or @Tony Thurston )

Although I’d need to make sure I could put the original copper S back on if going down that route as the car is on a pcp deal.

If I just stick a black vinyl sticker on you’ll know I’ve chickened out!

Thanks man! Yeah I’m going to live with the copper for a bit. It’s a bit different I guess. Loving the car so far!
