Hi,

I've posted in the general newbies area but I'll no doubt spend most of my time in this little corner of the forum as I have bought an Exeo today.

Its a late 2011 (facelift) Sport Tech TDI 170 saloon in silver, love it so far although it is a little plain compared to my old BMW 330ci.

Any recommended mods people would suggest overall? I like the look of debadged grills but I can't seem to find any for the facelift.

There's a sticky at the top of the page with popular mods - the RS4 underbonnet dress up parts are considered a very wise move to stop the scuttle filling with water and giving you a water cooled battery. Everything else is a optional.

Hi, please bear in mind the covers do not prevent water getting in, it is designed to go in there off the windscreen, they just keep the bigger leaves etc out and also in my opinion make it harder to see the water build up which will inevitably happen. My and many other Audis had all the covers and the flooded plenum chamber problems are there for all to see. My Exeo suffered a build up after being engulfed by floodwater from a speeding 4 x 4 but I was able to spot it and now it is very regularly checked....Julian

Thanks guys, I'll check the threads and keep an eye on the ingressing in the engine bay.

Took the Exeo on its first 70mph drive today, extremely smooth compared to my old 330ci. The torque is a lovely touch too, I've never had such a powerful diesel before so its a novelty to me.

Am I missing something or is the sticky no longer there? Would like to have a peek and see what's involved :)

The 'sticky' is in the Exeo FAQ section. I'm new too and find the two sections a bit confusing.

Just discovered the mirror fold button today, didn't realise I had it, its always good finding things you didn't realise you had on the spec list. Its crazy how much they threw in with the Exeo!

Collected them today Savery, the plenum- scuttle panel cover fits very well which has a separate battery access door. This includes the pollen filter panel which has to be removed. The left hand and right hand engine bay covers are defininatly going to need trimming and possibly additional brackets added to secure.
So these two weren't fitted today but a project I'll get round to once the weather makes it a bit more enjoyable. I also added the front of engine rubber seal which is just a push on fit but should help cut down some of the water intake from under the bonnet at the front. Sorry no photos at the minute.

Thanks - if you manage to fit the more difficult bits please post up some pics as I'm looking to get this done soon, and I'm a bit "challenged" even with the smallest jobs lol

There's a couple of different types of right hand engine cover (the one over the coolant & screenwash reservoirs).
Part number 8E0 103 927F is the one you want for the tdi engine, this will fit without modification. You could trim the front plastic edging for cosmetic reasons and a slight trim at the rear would give a better fit around the wiring loom but neither are essential.
There is a fixing kit also available, I bought this but found it's not really needed as the cover sits quite snugly in place and doesn't rattle at all.
The other part number is 8E0 103 927D, this has a cutout for a pipe/manifold on one side.
This one won't fit the tdi (as I discovered after buying the wrong one initially!)

With regards the left hand cover (covers the air con pipes), the fuel filter is the main obstacle from memory, it may be possible to fit but would need a fair bit of cutting.

As said above, the scuttle cover, battery cover & gasket are a simple 5 min job to fit and well worth doing.

None of my local Audi/VW parts suppliers seem to be able to find me one of these, (8E0 103 927F), where did you get yours, and will they accept a phone order?

Ordered mine from TPS in Slough, if you've a branch nearby give them a part number and they can generally get it in stock next working day.
Bought mine last year but would be very surprised if they'd discontinued the part.
Can check the price I paid when I get home but from memory it was around £20.
