Hi,

Just bought an 02 leon cupra, was considering a remap, can anyone recommend the best out of AMD, Jabba or Revo

Also can these remaps have an adverse effect on reliability? Heard of cars chuking pistons after or during mapping

Welcome

1st I've heard of problems like that, there are people that have done 100,000 miles on remaps on here. Its each to their own I'm afraid, each one has its merits. So a search and you'll find tons of information.

I'm happy with Revo. Get a good dealer whichever one you choose.

Hi, thanks for the reply, what kind of gains can i expect from a remap, iv heard 200bhp is possible from the stock 180bhp? with simply a remap alone? coming froma background of tuning mainly n/a cars, this seems a lot of power from just a live remap

I broke mine yesterday (don't ask, do a search for "curb HARD" on here)!

I love it, its a proper hobby. Cracking performance. I would have liked an R and given the chance again I probably would have got one.

Pulled away from a friends WRX PPP on the motorway on Sunday. He was quicker over a 1/4 mile from a standing start but I was faster top speed. Once moving a remaped LC or LCR is a match for a lot of quick cars.

Stealth is a big plus for me. I'm sure that most people think mines a grandad car, that it is until they get dusted!

Hopefully my damage is not too bad and I'll be back on the road next week.

Is an 02 the facelifted or is it Mk1?

nice car choice mate. with a downpipe and jabba map ive got 242bhp to play with.:funk:

engine should be good for 330bhp with a bigger turbo. so loads of scope to prevent you getting bored.

i never tire of mine. mines preface lift too. once rolling its very fast , getting it rolling, especially in the wet , once mapped, can be.... well... fun

enjoy your car mate.

then chip it and fall in love:redface:

ha ha... I like it there, nervous people that are getting squished into the back of their seats often ask what it is... then go quiet!

So what are your planned mods then? Remap I guess, are you interested in taking it further? What about styling? I have the compulsory fabia wiper but stock other than that. (actually I forgot about my DIY arch vent, you can just about see it in my avatar. Cost all of £3)

i tend to leave the tc on unless i want to play. ive found it useful in poor conditions.

i remember thinking 200bhp was too much for fwd! but with a good right foot .......

happy spinning!;)

No idea. They did downgrade the stanadrd Cupra spec so it would have been an option, it would definately have been expensive.
