Newbie - Ordered Ibiza 5dr Sport - Now Collected & Pics (Pg 3)

Hi people,

I've been reading the forum for a while and have decided to take the plunge and join.

I'm not really a "petrol head" but do appreciate a nice looking car, and I'm a bit of a gadget geek. (I'd drive an Aston Martin if I had the cash!)

So I've ordered myself a brand new Seat Ibiza 5dr Sport in Black Magic. I've added 17" wheels, convenience pack, climate control, bluetooth, electric folding door mirrors and the USB/AUX-in connection with the iPod cradle. I wanted the Bi-Xenon's but just couldn't afford it.

I've traded in my old car on the government scrappage scheme, which I'm over the moon about. As much as I love the car (Vauxhall Corsa SXi, which I've had since brand new back in 1999, sentimental value), I really wouldn't get anywhere near £2000 for it. I do however think I may shed a tear when it's time to hand it over.

I have an iPhone and have been assured by the dealer that this works with the bluetooth with no problems, I will be bitterly disappointed if it doesn't. I have a seperate iPod classic ready for the iPod cradle.

I'm so excited to get my new car but I have been told I have to wait until May. And from what I can gather from peoples experiences on here, that date can be a little optimistic.

I look forward to adding my two pennies worth to this forum.

I ordered my TDI sport on Saturday and there were quite a lot of cars in stock with extras especially in the 5 door. Did you get the dealer to search the system? I got a 3 door SC TDI with bluetooth/USB. Delivery is in 2 weeks.

There were loads of cars in stock with extras especially in the 5 door (this was for the 1.6 TDI). It might be worth contacting the garage and getting them to do a proper search. I spent a couple of hours with the salesman going through all the stock cars on his computer until I found the one I wanted.

Mine came right on time 11 weeks and 5 days after I ordered and the dealer told me 12 weeks.

I've ordered the 1.4.

I'll see if I can pop into the dealer tomorrow lunch and get them to check again, but I won't hold out much hope.

When I was picking the extras she pretty much said it was unlikely they would have any in stock as I had picked quite a few.

Must be less stock on the 1.4. The iPhone doesn't fit in the iPod cradle. You need to ask for the USB ipod cable instead.

I won't be using the iPhone through the stereo, I've got a seperate iPod for it that I currently use with my Alpine headunit. I'm under the impression the extra's I have paid for means I can control the iPod from the headunit and also charge the iPod at the same time! If they have lied to me I'll be

It's almost like my dealer is reading the forum, she's just emailed me.

She's given me a build date of the 3rd week in April, but has then said it will take 4 weeks to get to the UK. End of May it is then, let the count down begin!

My dealer was not very communicative with dates, they told me 12 weeks when I ordered it and the next I heard from them was 11 weeks later when it actually arrived. So i'm not complaining, it made the wait seem a lot quicker as I didn't have a specific date in my head to count down to.

yep i was gutted, he made a big errorrrrrr, order the BOC, Then tells me so sorry have ordered the FR Instead. **** felt the world had come down on me. but he will suffer for my extras coming out of his own pocket . ( Dealers what are they like) well i could say, but all for that he is not a bad guy, just made a grave mistake, but i just had to be on me!!!!!

i ordered mine 29th November and picked it up 6th March.

So good luck to all those waiting hope you have quicker times than i did.

My Iphone works on the blue tooth but had to put voice commands in manually as i only have the 3g not the 3gs.

Decided to put all my music on a usb memory stick, that works ok for me as i thought i'd probably forget to take the ipod out and would be on view
then get stolen.

Wow that is a bit long, I picked mine up on the 6th as well, but I ordered it on the 8th December. It's weird how random the wait times seem to be.
