Hi
I've got a problem with my car. The throttle body was cleaned out last weekend. It was running great for a few days and then i noticed that the idle pulley was moving back and forward as and when the car was turned off also when driving there is a massive flat spot between 2000 to 3000 rev's. The car has been to a Seat garage and they can't find any stored faults they just said that the throttle body is very noisey and it could be over fueling ??

The Car is a 99 mk2 2.0 8v agg engine with 70.000 miles on the clock

So any ideas

thanks luke

There's no F in Quality..
if you've had the throttle body off the car to clean it, you may want to try resetting the throttle body using VAG-com.....

also, make sure that the accelerator cable has no slack in it.... there's a 'clip' near the throttle body, take the metal clip off, then pull the cable out of the metal holder on the engine, then pull the cable away from the throttle body until it's tight (without actually opening the throttle body) then put it back in the metal holder and put the clip back on ;)

hope that helps !

I had this problem and it turned out i needed a new throttle body. Exactly the same symptoms that you have. Low fuel economy, revs dropping, massive flat spots between 2 and 3 thousand revs.

I managed to get one from a scrappies for £40
