Stumbled upon this forum after buying an 04 plate Ibiza 2.0 Sport with 25k on the clock.
Have a couple of questions that I hope you guys will be able to shed some light on.
I have the knock at the front of the car, sounds like the anti-roll bar issue to me or track rod ends/drop links or something. Car going in to local garage for check on this soon.
I also have a whistling noise coming from the rear or middle when travelling, could possibly be wind noise? Also the rear passenger wheel makes a squeaking noise when traveling backwards whilst turning? Wheel bearing? Common problem?
My main question is the exhaust, I've read the thread here on the noisy exhaust whilst cold issue, mines slightly different though, the exhaust sounds fine cold engine or hot, but specifically if i poke the throttle hard from idle speed with no engine load, i get a really loud blow noise, like its sucking in a load of air or something, something to do with back pressure or something?? Any ideas welcome.
Also the cabin seems to be really noisy, thought this was due to the low profile tyres but I had 45 profiles on my last car and it was never as noisy as this. Common? i can live with it.
Engine - whilst ticking over there is a whining noise, not badly, but its there, characteristic of the engine?
Apart from that the car is great.
