Hi people, thought I would join up to the seatcupra forum because it seems to be the bible for these cars, way better than any Haynes manual IMO and you get to have a laugh and some banter whereas you don't get to do that with a hardback.
So I'm Nick, living in Cheltenham, and have recently bought a Seat Leon FR (mk 1) technically not a cupra but same 180 engine (AUQ) which i believe is also found in the skoda 1.8t models.
So I bought the car off a guy in Swindon, its had stage 1 map with dyno print at 218.8bhp and that was just with a Ram Air induction kit and a cobra cat back. In the relatively short time I've owned it I've now got it pretty much to stage 2. It has:
FMIC
Creations Motorsport oversize TIP
3" Miltek downpipe (decat)
Forge 007p diverter valve
Honda s2000 air filter (heard they were better than the Ram Air)
All vacuum deletes with sai blank off plate
Creations Motorsport Catch can Setup
All ive got to do is stick an aps fuel pump in it and im booking into performance remaps in Gloucester for stage 2 map with pops and bangs
I actually got decent deals on all of the parts and did everything myself with my own little tool box.
I think ive saved hundreds on building not buying and I feel a real sense of satisfaction knowing that my hard work has got the car to a decent standard.
There are still bits to do on the car, for example the door seals, ive bought the butyl sealer just not got round to doing it yet, I'm getting water build up on the flat part of the door sills which tells me the seal has gone on the inner part under the door card, my best mate has a cupra and he had to do his, common fault apparently.
Also going to put h7 HID kit on as the standard headlights aren't strong enough with the fly eye tint
Anyway enough rambling thats a little intro on the car, I'm sure there will be many things I need to know and perhaps some things I can help others with which is why were all here right.
Anyone wanna say hi then feel free.
Nick

Welcome to the forum,

Great MK1 you have there, good to see she's being treaded well! What car have you come from may I ask?

We always say we cannot be held responsible for money you spend after reading up on the forum lol we've got some awesome stock and modified cars here.

Enjoy your stay and hope stage 2 goes well.

Cheers

Simon

Thanks for the reply man, I've had lots of cars in my life but I actually came from a Skoda Fabia that I did up during 1st lockdown, I've attached a pic... the car was completely standard when I bought it.
Yea stage 2 will be awesome, its where the real fun starts. Thanks again mate
