I have a W reg seat leon cupra 1.8t 20v.
I have been trying to install a new stereo (Sony mex-n5100bt) in my car and having a bit of a nightmare with it.
After trying the standard iso adapter that goes from Sony to the car it does not work. Tried swapping the red and yellow over, cd player seems to whir but the unit does not on.
Bought an adapter from halfords that's a generic vw/audi/seat adapter which now powers the unit and works but unfortunately seems to disable my central locking when plugged in. I've seen on another forum a similar issue but I've checked in the stereo cavity and there are no other random wires, just the 3 multicoloured ones for the 6 cd changer and then there was this random one that looks like and earth which bolted to the back of the old one that went to two connectors which weren't even plugged in to anything.
Can anyone help with what I need?
I have ordered another adapter online to see if that helps and will post an update on the results.
