Hello. I am planning upgradeing my speakers and installing an amplifier. I am not after huuuuuuuge amounds of base to blow my car to peices, just want to make the sound better quality throughout the car so am going to replace all the speakers and tweaters along with adding a sub and amp. I know the normal speakers are more than good but I am jsut being picky as always.

I was in my mates s3 and he has a bose sound system which is magic, wanting something to rival that. Been looking at rainbow systems with the i-paul amp as i heard they are amazeing. I was wondering -

Has anyone mounted a centre speaker behinde the console ? Even if this can be done would be a help, I know my mates s3 has one.

Also wundering if anyone know of any upgrade systems that are avalible for leons ?

Also any other advice on upgradeing would be more than welcomem complete novice with all this.

Thanks

Actually changing the speakers wont help it has to be fitted in a very technical way so that the voice of the speakers dont spread and the distance between the two speakers has to be maintained so as to get a audible output

Speakers

So this wouldn't even work if i used the original mountings and put new speakers in ? Seen a couple of rainbow upgrades for mk4 golfs so thoght this would just do the job for the leon. Includes a singal processor, speakers and tweaters, amp and sub. Saves hunting and mixing and matching products.

Fact one - you can change the speakers and add an amp / new HU and get a decent sound improvement
Fact two - a car is not a perfect place to install audio
Fact three - you can get around both of the above by making your into a near perfect audio stage
Fact four - all of the above is possible unless you wish to spend a LOT of time and money on an install and the associated labour

Conclusion - why not forget about perfect sound staging and just aim for a better sound quality using the factory speaker locations and well chosen good quality kit. You don't really need rear speakers so a good pair of front components, a decent amp and a good sub and box and a decent headunit will be just fine.
