Evening people, just joined the site looking for advice and tips. A little about me, I'm new to Seat, but by no means new to VAG cars or cars in general. Been messing about for about 10 years with various makes/models, my last project being a Mk4 Golf TDI that was bought for next to nothing as a run about after my other car was involved in a 4 car pile up, but turned into an almost fully rebuilt money pit!
Bought myself a 2002 Leon Cupra a couple of weeks ago, 146k on the clock but stacks of service history. The car drives beautifully, far better than its age and mileage would suggest.
Like all used cars, it has it's problems, so far here is what I've sorted/swapped/added:

*Major surging under hard acceleration, scanned with VCDS and turned out to be multiple misfires across 3 cylinders, changed coil packs, sorted
*exhaust rattling, front mounts were rusted so swapped out for a Scorpion cat-back system, which I got for a bargain £200
*nasty standard multi-spoke wheels swapped for 17" "starfish" wheels from the later model
*Ramair shielded filter
*N75 swapped, top crankcase breather hose changed, another split hose changed, diverter valve replaced for latest rev.
*after market stereo, standard one wasn't working, installed the new one, didn't work, turned out to be no constant 12v supply, so wired it into the cigar lighter

Here are the remaining issues:
*rear central locking not working, both sides, is currently at a local garage to have them replaced, passenger side is totally gone, can't open it at all, I just don't have the time or facilities to sort it
*instrument cluster intermittent/random operation, only started yesterday, set off from work and no dials working, then shot up a bit and stopped, then started working after about 10 minutes, would appear to be the whole cluster rather than any bad grounds etc. as none of the dials/gauges work, not just the speedo/fuel gauge which is the norm. Got a set of the white dials on order, will do the appropriate coding etc. via VCDS and VAG commander
*boost issues, the car as far as I know is not remapped, but is boosting too high, peaking between 16-18psi, from what info I can find it should be around 12 for standard?
*odd hesitation after gear change under hard acceleration, if I am pushing the car, say out of a junction, it will pull nicely, but when I change gear and get back on the gas, not a lot happens, you can feel the car hesitate, I then have to back off the accelerator and ease the power back on, this does not happen during in gear acceleration.

To do:
*wind deflectors, hate getting a face full of screen wash with the windows down
*new PCV valve, I also have the remaining PCV breather hoses to change over
*Silicon TIP hose
*rocker cover gasket
*oil and filter change
*cambelt
*remap
*braided brake hoses
*2.5" downpipe and sports cat

Think everything is covered, apologies if I've rambled, Craig

So many replies  Anyways, sorted a couple of issues, spent most of today attempting to fit the silicon TIP, what an absolute ballache! Ended up doing some searching and removing the bracket that holds the rigid coolant hose on that is in the way, also a pain in itself as you have to remove the gear linkages and bracket to access the bolt for the bracket. Checked the MAF whilst I had it removed and it was corroded to hell, tried cleaning it, but it's throwing an error, which is also throwing a traction control error, according to a search this is common, why the MAF would affect traction control, who knows. Also threw on the new PCV valve.
And oh lord what a difference, it is truly like a new car, pulling better through the gears, no dead spot at the top end and no hesitation after gear changes.
Not sure which of the fixes has sorted it, but I'm a happy chappy.

Also attempted to swap out the dials, which now work intermittently and have activated some sort of strobe light rave mode.
Was foiled at only one step, retrieving the SKC from the new cluster, my OBD cable doesn't seem to be compatible with VAGtacho, so a new cable is on its way.

Silicon TIP, MAF, PCV valve, SKC, OBD cable, VAGtacho - all this cockney rhyming slang is beyond me!
