New Sat Nav HU

I'm looking to change the OEM stereo in my '07 Leon FR to something a bit snazzier :D

Ideally I want SatNav, Bluetooth and iPod compatibility. The RNS-510 seems to be the HU of choice but I don't want to spend that amount of cash. I've seen the odd thread about the RNS-310 which would be ideal but can't seem to find anywhere online that sells them. I've also stumbled upon the Zenec MC2000 which looks like it might fit the bill, although for the SatNav feature the price goes right up. Can anyone share their experience of these units to help me make up my mind or can anyone recommend any alternatives that would fit the bill?

Thanks

Why don't you have a look at the units that are offered by Alpine, Pioneer or Kenwood?
I have an Alpine IVR-W202R Double Din unit with the Bluetooth module and fast iPod connection. I think its been replaced by IVA-W505R which will give you SatNav as well.

Thanks Alex, been snooping around on eBay checking out your recommendations. The Alpine looks like a great piece of kit but is a bit on the steep side for me :(

The Pioneer AVIC-F700BT or Kenwood DNX5220BT look like the best options with GPS & BT already built in and the iPod functionality with an additional cable.

Can anyone recommend a good dealer / fitter in or around the Belfast area? Google seems to be at a loss for this one. I'd have a go at fitting myself, but not too sure what else I need for it to enable the steering wheel controls.

I've just ordered the facia that allows aftermarket headunits from David at SERE.

That's my next stop :D

Checked out the units you suggested noktoto as well mate, great price but not too reliable by the looks of things which is a real shame as they looked really promising. Have managed to find a Kenwood DNX5220BT for £500 which seems to be the best option all round, just need to sort the fitting.

Pioneer are supposed to be releasing an AVIC-F9110BT around about now. Has the above built in but not sure what it's going to cost yet as I don't think it's on the market. From the wording on the Pioneer website it souded as if it may be offered by VAG dealers as it's a direct fit connection unlike a lot of aftermarket HUs.
Only downside apart from likely cost is the small screen.

I've got an Alpine IVA-W505R unit in mine and I love it.. The satnav is separate so you can use it other places, but also docks in behind the screen to work in the head unit. Might be a bit pricey though (£600 for the standard unit and an extra £200 for the Blackbird nav unit).

Comes with full Ipod and USB control, I load up the tracks on my 16gig USB drive and it indexes them in the headunit so I can browse by artist, genre etc. You can get a separate bluetooth module but I've hooked it up to my Seat bluetooth.
