I have just fitted new pedals to my FR TDI, the GTI ones are a direct swap, but I went for the R32 MK5 ones, fitted very easily too. took about 15 mins using a how-to from the UKMKIvs site.

I paid £69 +post from OEM parts yesterday, arrived first thing:clap: this morning, top people.

I have also just fitted some infinity speakers, so looking better and sounding better already, car only has 800 miles on the clock too, been away with work for too long!

Will post pics up soon.

In the above pic, if you make out the red tab, this is the locking tab for the wiring loom connector, push this in the direction you want to take the loom connector off in and it will release the lock, and the connector will come off. A lot of people have had problems with this.

This is the link i used to install, http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/thread/583064.aspx

its not working at the moment, but was yesterday. The hardest part is sorting out which way to push the clips to release the lower part of the acc pedal.

The front of the pedal is held by a single 10mm bolt under the cap on the left top side of the pedal, take the cap out, using a small flat screwdriver, and take the bolt out. the connector should be next, locate red tab, and push up and towards the engine bay, and it should unlock the connector, allowing you to remove the loom.

Then as you look at the pedal whilst sat in your seat, there are 2 slots in the rear most flat part of the pedal, you may have to push the carpet down a little to see properly, the left hand one looking from your seat, is the hardest, get a long ling flat bladed screwdriver insert it whilst holding it to as far to the left as poss, to ensure you get the correct side of the plastic tang. Hold the driver so it is going in whilst the rest of the screwdriver is flat on the carpet, and it should go in about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2", then lever handle towards the left and this tab should release.

The right hand one needs the same approach, except this only needs 1" insertion, and when you feel resistance push a little and this should release this tab.

Hope this helps, i tried to take more pics, but camera batteries are a bit flat.

Any questions please shout up.

Oh one last thing, i bought the pedals from Ebay, from a place called VW Speed Ltd, when i rang to pay for the GTI pedals i have bought now, he offered R32 ones as well, so went for the 32 ones at the same price, ordered yesterday morning, delivered by my grumpy postie this morning, cannot recommend VW Speed enough, very easy to deal with.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN:IT&viewitem=&item=150124750388&rd=1&rd=1 As i said above, bought these and when i called the number to pay up, he offered R32 for the same price.

I believe the loud pedal is 1K2 721 503N, one of the others is 1K0 721 131 A 4J4, not sure of the other part number, as it came in a plain white bag. If you give VW Speed a call they may have sets waiting, my invoice was £69 + £4 Post, as i said they arrived next day. They are very helpful on the phone, try 01603 722639, i am sure they will be cheaper than the dealer.

OEM set just ordered, £45 plus a little postage, should get in a couple of days..........just a shame we have to go down this route with the FR as the Golf and Octavia Vrs are equipped as standard
