hi there guys, this saturday im due to get a catback resonated twinpipe exhaust for my 08 plate ibiza fr tdi, my ibiza has been remapped to 180 bhp, nd 290 ftlbs of torque. I wanted an exhaust that wud give me good sound, and maybe a bit of increase in power. One of my family friends gave his opinion saying he thought it was a waste of money at 400 pounds fitted and i'll probs lose power and low end torque. As you can understand guys, i dnt wana layout this cash for a loss, has anyone put a millteck on there remapped fr tdi's? Whats peoples thoughts on power loss, gain? Any advice would be much appreciated guys, i'd like to see a little gain but will my remap settings not adjust to the millteck exhaust or any other probs, cheers

Their wrong, It will give you a small... very small increase in power thats proven and everyone here swears by miltek. I've not had or heard one in the flesh but from the videos they sound quite meaty.

You could always get a custom exhaust,

So
Turbo Downpipe - Exhaust (No cat) with a sound and tip of your choice from a custom exhaust place (Thats what I did) never regretted it

You wont lose power but you wont gain any (well maybe 1/2bhp) either. Its the high flow down pipe and cat that gives the increse.

cheers guys, i was a bit worried when he said that, so it'll probs gain 1 or 2 bhp. He said sumthing about low end torque being affected, or is that more rubbish lol

Agreed with Damo,
Get a turbo downpipe however dont have it catted. As your a derv you dont need one.
I had mine off for a few days whilst I waited for the sports cat to arrive. The revving was very free and very good.

However I then had a sports cat and whilst alot better than the standard its best just to remove it entirely.
Derv's dont need them.

cheers mate, i would have got the turbo back however then my warranty is void lol! Not only that the company who did my tuning advised any more substancial power gains and itll b uprated turbo, clutch. Does the millteck derv system sound good or is it loud, chavvy?

Nah dont worry, I sold a car back to the dealer with a full custom exhaust system. It wont void your warrenty.

If for example you get a dash light relating to the exhaust system and you take it in for repair you'll foot the bill but the problem has to be DIRECTLY related to the work done.

Get a turbo downpipe,
No cat
And a straight through pipe.
It will be alot cheaper than £400 from a custom exhaust place and the benefits are more than the miltek system I think

Yeah ur correct, u do hear a lot of bad things but with a lifetime warranty, labour included i just thought it was the best option cause i hate crawling about under the car....might not be proven gains on the car like miltek or blueflame, but surly it must make a diff...

from experience.....:headhurt:

at Powerflow, they don't have flanges of any sort to use so the cut off the flange for you OEM exhaust rendering that scrap.
Plus your taking a chance that the Powerflow "technician" (and i use that loosely) knows how to weld and doesn't leave joints looking like Nelsons column in Trafalgar Square!!! :ban:

you know your going to get a quality made item from Milltek that fits, thats why i spent the coin on a Milltek ;)

as said, the downpipe decat will yield gains!
it allows the turbo to spin up easier and quicker.

got a milltek cat back on my remapped Fr tdi.....love it...great noise when you boot it above 2,500-3000 rpm...if your after a loud boom box noise, then you wont get it with just the catback....it provides a nice purr/noise when you driving it on motorways...but not a drone!

Im looking at getting the milltek downpipe now, with decat section
