I've got the TFSI on order, due in June, but I remember on my test drive that I was shocked at how crap the ICE was in the new car (got a LC at the mo.)

Is there an easy way to make the existing kit sound better.... I know nowt about amps and pre-outs and the like, so be easy on me, even if to tell me to go to a local independant and ask them about "this" or "that"

I like bass, but I need the boot for kiddie stuff
I like loud, but the speakers just seemed to distort!

If the standard speaker fitment is the same as the Altea, then changing the speakers to something decent will make a big difference. Have a search on the Altea thread, and you will find a write up of the replacement and some pics too. The chap who wrote most of the bits is called Tell.
I did it and was surprised how good the standard headunit could sound.

I'll have to dig that one out aswell, I have a new Leon and can confirm that the sound system is pretty poor. The speaker distort very early. I've had to have one of the rear tweeters replaced under warrenty, and it's still rattling.
