Hi all,

Just thought Id give my mark on my new LCR,

Im an ex Fiat Coupe Club member - And just sold my tuned Civic Type R,

Very different cars I know -

My Fiat Coupe 20vt.

Alike the Leon, very heavy, But solid (ish) But with 320bhp it was fast, very hard to be beaten when rolling, but brakes (Brembo) sucked, always warped..

Civic Type R.

Very raw, Noisey, Bumpy but with 230bhp it was faster than a remapped LCR (as tested) But just horrible for everyday driving,. a great 2nd car ideally..

LCR 2005 225.

Very smooth, solid, well built, Looks great and brakes are awesome - To be honest as standard, they are VERY sedate, quiet, sluggish and not really any fun at all,...

I had it remapped and put super 4's in, and added a filter,

Now its half way to being fun, noise is better, and it shifts well,

Ive a 3" DP and a decat to go on this week, That should make it sound very nice and should see another BHP hike, (circa 275??)

I think the 225 needs to be around those figures to be fun, IMO ofcourse..

Shall keep you posted...

Chrissy.

Ahh Civic Type-R's.....i used to own an EK9 version (1996 model). Was only a 1.6, but boy did that shift.....190bhp in something the weight of a empty tin can.

Strange that the 230bhp EP3 beat a remapped LCR, my friend's one with Skunk2 inlet manifold, uprated fuel rail, air filter & exhaust can't match the 300lb/ft pumping out of my LCR.

I used to own a tuned EG6, was running rougly 180bhp and that used to scare EP3 owners alot :D. Can't beat VTEC sound but if I was to go back, i'd settle for nothing less than a DC5.

You'll ideally need another remap after you've fitted a complete turbo-back exhaust and i'd recommend a FMIC too to get more from it. You should easily see 280bhp then. After that you either need to hybridise your turbo and wait for JBS or INA to knock out a good cast manifold for 320bhp or go for a GT28, tubular equal length manifold and uprated rods for 350+bhp or GT30/Twin-Scroll for near 400bhp.
