New instrument panel

Hi there, my fuel gauge and temperature is going nuts at the minute. The fuel need reads zero after a couple minutes of the car starting and the outside temperature isnt showing at all. After searching the forum and seeing that its going to be the Cluster at fault what actually needs replaced. Apparently it costs about £500 for seat to do it which im not happy paying considering its not a serviceable item..

Would it be possible for me to fit the cluster myself and get somebody else to sort all the rest. Im presuming its just the mileage that needs setup. Can somebody with Vagcom do it or is it only Seat able to do it?

Also, how much are the instrument clusters (mine is the cluster with the oil and volt gauge added).

its not just the millage etc, the immobilizer is built into the cluster which only the dealer can program as far as i know
