New Ibiza Cupra Owner....

Hi Guys,

Looking to buy my first Cupra...(after selling my mk2 golf GTI)

Money in the bank and basically toss up between Cupra or a Lupo GTI....

Now then a few questions peeps...

Im looking to get the latest Cupra possible of the Mk3 variety....

I believe thats a 52 plate? or an 02?? where there any on 03 plates???

What options were there? Full leather i believe but this is very rare...any others?? Metallic paint as well i believe is that common or fairly rare or worth looking out for ones with metallic and if so how do you know?

Were there flip keys on the late ones? or is it possible to put a flip key on it yet or is it still a bit of a problem to do?

any things i should look out for when im buying?

Im looking at one at the mo thats had the coil packs replaced under warranty... 02 plate at 44k miles... about £6.3k

any help greatly appreciated gents...

Hi matey.

52 was the latest revision on the mk3's. no 2003's. EDIT: 02 plate

No flip keys, you dont even get them on the new ibiza's!

I would recommend the mk3 over the lupo, purely for tuneability! circa 1k you can have 220bhp!

Do a quick search mate on common faults etc in the mk3 section, loadsa questions in the past. Coils are about 20 quid each, so not too bad if they do go.

You only got full leather on imports, half leather on Uk models

im fairly up on what normally causes probs......

excellent news about the latest......il look out for an 02 or 52 plate basically......

any idea on options???? apart from the metallic paint...

02 plate was the last mk3

afaik full leather was not an option in the UK so you prob wont find it. With regards to colours.. Arctic Grey and Imperial Blue were extra

no models came with flip keys, but some people have managed to code a flip key

6k is ok for the miles, though there could be better deals out there...one lad off here just sold his for 7k and that had 26k

There were a couple of 52 plate MK3 Cupras, but they're well rare!

Ive had the Lupo GTI reason i sold to buy a mark 3 was for tuneablity there is not much off the shelf at all for the lupo infact i had everything you could buy! It was a great car and handled well with the coilovers was alittle go kart.
they hold there money well as there were only 1000 available .

Best of both worlds which i wish i could have afforded to do it! Was a 20VT lump in the lupo! got quoted around 7k to do it! But what a car that would be!

black wheels on silver cars look great, i had a magnum grey focus before the lupo also with black wheels!
I love them they always look great clean too!
