New Ibiza Cupra Advice

I am thinking about getting something a little more sensible and am really keen on the idea of the new Ibiza Cupra.
Are there any owners out there that have received them that could tell me about the pro's and con's?

I have read about the delivery issues, which doesn't bother me.

What does concern me is the speed of it. I have a Honda S2000 now and before that I had a Clio 197 Cup, Focus ST, Astra VXR, Megane 225 and Clio V6 and just want to know how it compares to those?
I am looking for a comfortable cruiser that has the ability to blast through B roads when then chance presents itself.
Local Seat doesn't have a demo to test.

The spec I am thinking of is Xenons, Panoramic Roof, Leather Seats. Not sure on the colour yet.

Lastly; are there any pics anywhere by anyone that has received theirs? I did a search and can't find any.

Cheers

Hi there and welcome

Iam picking up a bocanegra tomorrow so I don't have a full review on one yet,I have test driven one though and due to the fact I've owned similar cars (a3 2.0t,350z,r26 megane and currently a3 3.2) I think I could have a little input on how I felt the car performed in comparison.

I felt that although the stats say the car is not as fast as you're s2000 you will find the car seems to make quite rapid progress because of the dsg system(which is very smooth and changes are seamless) where you don't have to lift off to change gears,it certainly felt as fast if not faster than my a3,not quite on the par of the megane or 350 but feels very close,to compare the handling I'd use the megane as the benchmark and to be honest as the Ibiza is smaller I personally felt like I could through it into a roundabout with just as much confidence as I did in the megane (the guy who accompanied me on the test drive was mental)

When I drove it,it was on wet roads and I didn't detect too much wheelspin from taking off at lights certainly nothing unmanageable and the power didn't seem to be cut via the electronic systems either to stop the wheels spinning when they did,I reckon this is to do with the new xds system where power is not cut completely instead it is sent to the wheel that has more traction.

It sounds pretty good not boy racer but sporty enough, nice noises from the turbo and supercharger too although I had to listen out for these a bit if you know what I mean

economy figures are 44ish but I don't think anyone has done enough miles in one yet to properly assess the true economy-I could be wrong here.

I only have a couple of pictures from when I went to view my car after it was delivered,il put in the best of a bad bunch below

hope this helps a bit

Thanks for the response.

Can you post again when you have driven it a few weeks?
I'd appreciate your views.

I won't be ordering until January as it's through a work scheme.

For a rough comparison, I tested drove the Ibiza FR a few weeks back, took it out twice as I was going to change my current Leon FR for the Ibiza Cupra, to be honest with you, the Ibiza FR felt faster then my Leon. It was so smooth to drive, my Leon is a TDI so I've got all that torque to make it feel quick but the Ibiza was something else. You will be very impressed with the Cupra, that and it's smaller then your other cars so will feel quicker IMO :)
