Well this week i got a bit fed up of the alana headunit and had a few quid spare so bought a Sony CDX-GT200, yes its not the best but I got a decent price for it and a few little things thrown in so anyway it comes in the next day or so. I have searched this before anyone asks and this is more a confirmation post, I have heard I need to swap the red and yellow wires and thats pretty much it. Is there anything else I should be aware of and anything else I might need

Absolutely nothing. When I fitted my Alpine I put it in the lower half of the slot and put the tray on the upper half (Upside down) and it fitted a lot better. :)

I didn't, but on the Toledo I did with my Pioneer HU. Basically plug it in but dont secure it in place... search for a station and save it. Remove the key (Or turn off the radio) then power on again to see if it remembered it - if not then swap them over :)

you have to leave the car 5 mins (no key in ignition) then try it as it does remember stuff for 5 mins and you think oh great its worked, then the next day all the setting are lost! putting headunit in bottom slot allow room for cup holder use that doesnt get in the way of radio controls like it does in standard position.
