new head unit

just bought and installed a new head unit, which doesnt save any radio stations/time etc etc when i turn the ignition off. its plugged in by the iso connectors, but there is a spare box connector that doesnt have a place in the sony headunit, does that do anything? or just generally, how do i keep it permanently on without running a wire straight from the battery?

sounds like the usual ignition and perm live being wrong way around.

do a searchy.

swap the yellow and red wires on the iso , so red from car to yellow on headunit and yellow from car to red on the headunit
