New head unit stereo for my mk1 Leon - Advice please

Just a few questions if anyone has the time :) I have plenty of electrical experience but just never fitted or removed a car stereo before..

(53 plate Leon mk1 with climate control and currently standard aura cd player)

I know i'll be needing a facia and the keys, what about the wiring side of it?
Plugs\connectors? Aerial adapter?

The standard cd player adjusts playback volume as mph increases, is this a feature on the standard unit or one of the car? Will a 3rd party cd player do the same?

Also any general advice on 3rd party head units would be great :)
Im looking at Pioneer, JVC and Sony under £100 atm.
Must have cd player, usb input and removable front... iphone syncing, red illumination to match, aux in and DAB radio would be nice though

Thanks :)

There is plenty of info on here about it, but off the top of my head you need a fascia/converter as a standard head unit is smaller, an aerial amplifier and the live (always on) and ignition (only live when ignition is on) are switched.

I have a JVC which was cheap as chips and does IPOD & USB media as well as Bluetooth streaming and calls to your phone. Colours on the screen and buttons can be changed to match the dash. GF has a pioneer that does the same, but is a better quality unit.

Alpine's are popular on here and are generally excellent stereos.

I saw them :) Im not sure if i would use the cd player as much with USB\iphone input actually.

On the other hand they do one which is the same as i posted yet with bluetooth for about £88.00 so that could be an option.

Do you have an iphone? Im sure theres something odd with bluetooth on them, never gets found by other phones at least. So not sure if it would even work?

I phone can go die.

I did see some people having issues connecting to various bluetooths stereos.

Be sure if you get a different bluetooths one that it does music etc too not just hands free calling
