Hi Peeps,

Got a LCR and have a new Seat Sports knob for it!

Can anyone help me get it installed?

Ive got two clips i can feel around the gaitor but tried squeezing them and pulling and nothing budges?

Ive also heard you need a new ring once the old one comes off, where do i get that from? as my new knob will be second hand?

Any help or installation guide would be very helpful!

Did a search but nothing definite or easy guide?

Cheers

Two clips underneath the gaitor leather at the sides of the base need to be squeezed inwards at the same time.
This releases the gaitor.
Pull it up over itself and reveal the gear stick.
Then break off the hose clip that holds the old one in pleace. Pliers will do the job.
You will then need a new ajustable hose clip to replace it with that holds your new one in place.
Make sure you get one that is not too wide as the gap is quite narrow.
Measure it first before you break the original one off.

Can't remember which diameter but a quick measure will answer...

Funky it is easy as. As above feel around the leather gaitor for two tabs. One on the left and one on the right. Push them in at the same time while lifting up. The gaitor and plastic trim will release and you pull it up and over the stick to reveal the clip etc... Then follow the guide. It really is simple. The only issue I had was crimping the one time clip took a lot off effort as I could have done with bigger pliers or wrench etc..

The one that is already on is a one time use only as it's crimped closed. Just use a screwdriver, pliers or whatever to prise it open a little and then you can take the old gear knob off.

You should have gotten a new one with the knob or you can use a jubilee clip.

you dont have to put a clip back on once u have fitted your new nob.. just give it a firm push down. i did it in my FR. never felt lose and was perfect. when i sold it just a firm pull up!
