hi peeps

my leons already chipped and im thinking of adding a forge intercooler. i realise that it`ll need a remap to get the most from it but the map might take a while to happen.

would it run ok?

run rich maybe?

can always wait until i can do both closer together ... but out of intrest...

what about the adaptive ecu? would it be adaptive enough?

ecu can adapt 20 percent on certain fields , ul be ok , car will be fine , when u fit it , disconnect the battery for 20 mins , n the car will adapt when u next drive it

FMIC wont be the last mod im sure, so if all goes well i`ll wait for the turbo upgrade once ive figured out which one, before a fresh map

watching the threads with intrest.........

bit naughty! if its an absolute no no to fit it without a new map then i guess i`ll put the whole thing off till the new turbo time.

really need to know what effect the fmic will have on my current map.

im thinking that consumption will rise?

Put it on mate, I bought an APR FMIC off fleabay, fitted to my 03 OCTY vRS, I am running a standard map at the moment, have also got a CAI, 4 Bar FPR, Blueflame 100cel cat, downpipe and exhaust, Neuspeed lower intake Forge TIP Forge DV, all of which have been fitted to what was a standard car with standard map.
I KNOW that the ECU has adapted fine, it normally doesn't like the latest mod for a few hours then adaptive kicks in and it sorts itself out just fine, so much so that I had it on the Dyno at TSR in Halifax a couple of weeks ago just prior to fitting the CAT /DP/Exhaust but with all the other bits including the FMIC on and got 199BHP flywheel, 165.5 ATW and 193lbs/ft torque, fuelling was a little rich up top end.....which is 'safe' anyway..........Go Play!!!! :D

Yup I know, that's why I took it off a week and a half ago & still get the MPG at 40 + when I do my weekly run down the m6 from Stockport to Stafford and back!

cool... happy to fit it now. be even cooler when its on. :D

good to hear the adaptive ecu works well. my first mod was a dynatwist and i was very suprised how the engine note , idle speed seemed to change briefly as it sorted itself out. my mpg got worse but once mapped it had improved!

so.... this order

fmic
big brakes
and then turbo and map.

anyone give me some money please!

said id stop after the miltek sports cat... er... or was it the sports suspension, bigger wheels, first remap?

this is getting addictive

Sorry to put a downer on this thread, but i had a jabba map, then put a FMIC on & found a hesitation on light throttle afterwards.
to make matters worse my boost pressure actually increased (not sure why as it should have decreased  ) & it felt more like a Revo chip :(

still, on the up side i now have a decent 'custom' chip & BT
i hope it works out for you

intresting... why would boost decrease? fmic more volume to fill? i imagined that mpg might worsen due to colder air =more fuel burnt? or is that only changes pre maf?

which way did you go bt? ihi?

i went for a small BT if you get what i mean, JBS CC-04.
i assumed as the FMIC has more volume you would get a slight (0.1bar) loss, instead i got a + 0.2bar increase  maybe i had a leak?
my MPG remained constant @28, now risen to 31

No RR yet. no point in getting it on unless there are some others to compare results with.
I'm waiting until the next RR day near me.
