As you might have gathered from some of my other newbie-asking-questions type posts I am weighing up my various options with improving my Leon. I was looking at getting the bumper colour coded, but at around £500 is a bit out of budget. After giving the car a good clean at the weekend I was thinking that a visible exhaust would break up the monotony of the back-end. This is where my lack of knowledge really shows up!
The exhaust is hidden behind the bumper so I have 2 options: Buy a Cupra bumper or make a cut out. For now I am going with the cut out idea and see how I get on. With this in mind I know a bodyshop that I could use for the work. Am I right in thinking that the back box is essentially the "exhaust pipe" bit of the system (see pic) and so this is what I would need to change? If so what do I need to be looking for as I don't know any specs of the current exhaust and whether parts for a Cupra would fit exisiting pipework etc. I think the guy I spoke to at the bodyshop last week also mentioned the possibility of extending the current unit...I wouldn't want something that sounds chavy though an improved engine note would be great, but then I'm not expectiving much from my wee engine
Cheers!
