New exhaust system Turbo back?!

Went to Custom Pipes in Doncaster the other day to look at getting a 2.5" bore all the way from the turbo back. But the guy says this is totally pointless as the outlet off the turbo is 2", your going to gain nothing and it'll cost £400.

He said instead normally they take it from the flexi-pipe and take it through from there, which is more like £320. Which is more like the price I've heard people mention.

My question is what has everyone else actually done? And what do they think/advise as I'm not at all sure what to go for.

Cheers

The down pipe bore need to be bigger then the turbo outlet as the exhaust gases are getting forced out under pressure. The less back pressure a turbo has the less strain and lower EGT`s . If they don`t understand that basic fact then they shouldn`t be making exhausts !
