New Exhaust Needed

My friend's Cupra was in for a service this week and they reported a couple of breaks in the exhaust. Finances are tight so while a nice, new stainless sport exhaust might be tempting it's not really an option.

Found a few cars being broken though. To avoid making an expensive mistake while trying to save money, just wanted to know whether exhausts are interchangeable - specifically will the exhaust from a Cupra R fit the standard Cupra or does it have to be like-for-like?

Thanks for asking on my behalf Mark. Just had to wipe the wry grin off my face as I have just seen what it reads on the top banner? "SeatCupra.Net Your#1 forum for Seat info and discussion "

I think we may have more responses about the exhaust for my car on the TT forum.

One of the worse aspects of this forum is when people say go and search. Its not a case of laziness on the OP part its a case of seeing if there is some sort of community feel whereby members support each other with their experiences and their knowledge.

I am a regular poster on a scuba diving forum and after many years you do see the same questions being asked but all of us are happy to reply and we also give them links to when the question was asked previously so those replies can also be seen.

Telling people do a search is not a supportive and doesnt encourage new owners/members of the forum to stay or even bother posting and yes for those of you that have been on this forum since time began then you have seen the questions asked before but dont you think its more friendlier to offer a full reply of your own views?

You might as well close the forum to new members so they cant post a question but just make it a Cupra Search facilities. Great way of killing of a forum.

mate, i understand where your coming from cos i do this too, but sometimes the answer is already waiting there for us...

But you have two options - do a search and spend half an hour ploughing through the results to find the answer to the exact question you've got or post the question and hope that on a friendly, helpfull and knowledgable forum there will be someone who could quickly give you an answer.

This was one of those questions where I thought the answer would be so well known that I'd get a response almost instantly - not dozens of views and then hours and hours later getting told to just go and search.

Having not had an answer here for a few hours I posted the same question in the 'Other Marques' section of the TT forum. I got my answer quicker there than I did here. Now why is that? Do TT drivers know Cupras better than you guys, or is it just a difference in attitude?

Well, thanks for what response there was.
