New engine

Looks like ive bent a con rod :cry:

I think it's time to look for a new engine.. thing is.. i have no idea where to look? and if i'm getting a good price.. im new to this game!

ive been told i could upgrade my engine while in the process (i.e get a different/more powerful engine) an tips boys?

Will the Leon engine fit? what ther options do i have?:confused:

If it was me personally, i'd check the bay and again personally i'd stick to the same engine, so hopefully would be a hassle free out and in job.
 
i would imagine it would be cheaper to source the engine yourself, probably pick one up for around the £500 mark from a breakers. Try searching on google for breakers, eg car transplants in Nantwich then ring around some more and compare prices to see if they are competitive. If you aint any good with the spanners (like me :D) i would imagine a garage could turn it around in an afternoon.

Not sure on what else would fit engine wise sorry. Have to wait for a 'techie' now :D

I have the garage picking it up on Monday to diagnose the problem.. Officially, so depending on the quote? i would much rather keep my engine as it was in perfect condition before i had my trouble. Just trying to get a few ideas incase the quote is silly... depends on the extent of the damage i guess? I have to say it sounds awful.
