New engine Vs Rebuild?

I currently have a 2.016v cupra sport. So heres the story:

Was driving pretty fast in 4th gear around 100mph and as I slowed down to turn off the motorway, there was a knocking noise coming from inside the engine and a lack of power. I was able to keep this noise at bay by driving under 20,000 revs wich was quite tricky in some places.

Anyway in the end, I took it to a Seat Garage and told me the rotor arm had snapped off, had a massive oil leak, and would need a complete engine rebuild. At £42 hour labour i told them to do one and was looking around for a garage to do it for me in the south wales area.

So the question finally is: Due to the cost of getting it rebuilt, would it be easyer and cheaper just to buy a second hand/remanufactured engine?

And if anyone has any lnks of good used/remanufactured engine companies, I would be very greatful

there's a whole engine (inc box loom, ecu - which are all saleable) in the for sale section for £350

I'd buy that, and sell off the ancillaries you don't need

given a like for like swap it won't cost much to swap out (2 days labour if they're slow)
