Just had a quick look at retro fitting these heated washer jets...

Looks pretty easy ...

But I wanted to know if there was a "button" I could utilise to put in next to my rear screen button.

I.E. Here:

Im not that fussed about what the button says....

Would the heated seats button go here? Anyone any ideas?

IIRC The heated seats button replaces the cup holder, 1/2 of it for the left seat and 1/2 for the right. The Airbag light is always there on the dash.

Cheers Pabs...
Right ... so heated seats = no cup holder...

Confused about the air bag light? I removed a blanking plate from the hole.... Though I could just replace it with a switch ... wouldnt mind what the switch was....

Any one have a switch for anything there?

the "thing" that is there is either a BLANK (early cupras) or is an AIRBAG LIGHT.

This picture shows it:

You could possibly purchase a button from seat and fit it in the hole... I am sure if you just got a rear-windscreen heater button and turned it 180 degrees it would fit? Might need a little persuasion with a few tabs cutting on it? Dont really know..

i'll try and explain a little more.

The dash buttons on that level are fitted into a hole the same size as the cup holder, but there is a plastic seperator in the middle, giving space for 2 buttons. I know that the cup-holder facia can be removed so i can only assume that the rear-screen heater facia bit can be removed, and then replaced with the one you have just removed.
As for the connections on the buttons, I am not totally sure, but I would have thought it would only be a DPDT or SPST (Double/Single Pole, single throw) so it would be easy enough to work out which connections you would use.

Hope this helps

Nice on Pabs.... problem is the corners :(

Suppose I "could" try to get the rear-windscreen heater button as you suggested, rip off the front section and replace it with the blanking plate. Wouldnt be able to have an integral light for "on/off" display, but you could tell it was on by it being depressed (im so, along and no-one like me  )

Might see how much for a rear-windscreen heater button.

Ta Pabs....

from what i can remember on those buttons, its just a bulb inside, with a see-through window icon or airbag text written in front of it, showing that its on.
You could go for the hazard switch as it looks like the hazard icon is stuck on - you might be able to remove it and change for whatever you want.

It all depends how much work you wanna do though, and how tidy you want it to look. I say I am not totally sure, but i would have thought the corner is only on the facia part. The facia on the cupholder is held on by two horizontal lugs going from facia into the holder itself. Switch is possibly the same?

Ask your partsman see what he/she says. You might be lucky :)

alternatively the heated seats switch should fit in there - again the cupholder is replaced by two switches, with a seperator piece in the middle. Means that the righthand switch should be the same shape as the airbag light/blank...

What about a 1M2 959 561 56J

Listed as a "Switch for roof sign taxi RHD"

Its shown as going in the same location as the blanking plate...

:wtf:

Right ... will also ask about that
