D'oh! Title should read Golf Edition 30 not "Gold" sorry Mods!!

Ok then chaps...

Assuming that the rumours about the engine for the new Cupra being a detuned version of the Audi S3 (265ps) engine...will it have a DSG option on it? As I seem to recall there being an issue with the DSG not being able to take the extra power? (Hence why there is no DSG option on the S3 maybe?)

Following that, does this mean that the engine in the Golf Edition 30 (230ps TFSi) is a tuned Golf GTi engine? or a detuned S3 engine? As the Ed. 30 has a DSG option.

Weighing up the pros and cons of finding a new car has never been so confusing!!

If I was a betting man I would have said the Edition 30 is a tuned GTi engine as that way VW wouldn't need to mod anything on the car (except the ECU) and it simplifies the production line.

As for the DSG

I know it can handle the torque of the 170 TDi as that is meant to be available soon.

We don't really know anything about the differences between the 240 cupra and the 260 S3, but we hope they're similar.

I'd spotted the other day that the Golf 30 is quoted as 230ps and the new Cupra will be 240ps - I wondered if this was another indication that the Cupra was different to the Golf. If it were the same, they'd run it at 240ps, surely.

All speculation though
