Hello, just signed up to this site not that long ago as recently (Saturday past actually) I bit the bullet and bought a Seat Ibiza TDi Sport 100 from a dealer not too far from me. I have been looking to sell up for a while, and recently looking at a whole range of VAG diesels. I had eventually narrowed it down to two choices which was a MKV Golf and a MKIV Ibiza, both TDi's until I ran an insurance check on the both of them and found out I could no longer get insurance on the Golf for some reason.
I am coming from owning a Citroen C2 1.4 petrol, so hopefully there will be alot to look forward to in my ownership of my newly acquired 2005 Ibiza with only 19k on the clock.
Like the C2, I hope to have many plans for the Ibiza when I save some money for mods and will get some pictures up as soon as I get her home and cleaned up! For now I just have some general questions after a lot of reading from both here and various other sites.
Induction - I see that for most people they have opted for the PD160 intake with a Green Cotton Panel Filter which I honestly see as an over exuberantly priced piece of plastic, or am I missing something? Has anyone got any RR'ed figures or anything to prove the gains got from the both of these both remapped/non-remapped.
Exhaust - What seems to be the best exhaust for the PD100 engine? Will the Milltek system from the PD130 fit the PD100 or is there something different? It's quite costly and what have people opted to go for, straight pipe from the turbo back, or backbox/middlebox etc.
Basically I would be wanting to sort these two things out first before I even think about remapping as if I remap now it will be money wasted as I will have to get another custom map made when these mods are complete.
