Hi

Would like to get in touch and chat with Madmile about his H&R suspension and clonking. Forum won't let me PM, so if your out there please reply!!!

Would like to know if you have resolved your clunking from suspension. After fitting my H&R kit mine now does it. Suspect the top mounts, Replace them for standard?? Although at the garage they seem to think the ARB is touching the driveshaft now lowered and susgests new bushes. Should i fit standard or powerflex and just to ARB or all front rubber????? Have searched and searched but cannot find any conclusive info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks

Paul

P.s. Did the greasing of top mounts sort the prob out??????

I'll answer this one, Madmiles clinking stopped if I remmber rightly from fitting uprated rear bump stops. However...

I've fitted a few H&R Cup Kits now and sometimes they will clonk for the first few hundred miles then settle, if there still clonking take it all apart and grease everything, spring seat, top mount seat, top mount bearing, the lot.

Worked on every strut and spring kit i've fitted so far.

I used all new bolts, and bushes when fitting mine. Didnt get any clunking apart from the spring moving when coming off speed bumps. Nothing when on lock like others suffered.

Thanks

Cheers guys. Think what i will do is leave it for a while to see if they settle as you suggest. Then I will replace the Top mounts and anit roll bar links and have the shocks stripped and re-assembled as these are a secondhand set i purchased and greased up. Thinking of doing the anti roll bar links (as they have apparently produced marks on the driveshaft!) with powerflex bushes but use standard top mounts as the Bonrath ones don't seem to get a great review. you say new rear bump stops???? Would this be just for rear clunking??? or how would it affect the front??? I only really get the clunk at slow speeds when turning from left to right lock or vice/versa!

Cheers for the advice.

Paul
