hmm do you open the bonnet or unhook any cables to 'give it some slack' or just go ahead and prise it of?

have tried a bit of prising from the bottom/front of the panel, i have heard at least 1 mounting pop off but it's still there quite firmly

It does NOT just pop off. If you try that you'll break it.

There's a fastening at the back that needs to slide out first. (It's in the bit you really can't see).

Standby for a picture...

Pull the actioning lever -1-, displacing some 2 cm
Introduce a small screwdriver between the actioning lever -1- and the clip -2-
Remove clip -2- from lever -1- using a screwdriver
Remove the lining -3-, separating it from the central location, at a straight angle, and from the heel moulding, by the lower part.
In the case that there is one, uncouple the volumetric alarm switch connector.

great then the trim under the door just pops off cos i've done this on the other side already....

i think someone said removing the rear panel trim (underneath both windows) is just a case of pulling them off with a bit of controlled force....is this confirm-able ?

there doesnt seem to be any clips around the base of the lever in that panel

there is what looks like the edge of a bit of plastic molding coming, but just seems to be a molding, not a clip that moves - i tried bending it with a knife :D and it didnt slide out or anything

a knife  try an axe :) flat head screwdriver would be better from the pics the clip showed is the same most manufactures use to hold window winders on!
