Hi, I need help??
I overtook a car the other night, dropped down a gear and booted it. I heard a pop and my engine management light started flashing and the car started juddering under acceleration through all the gears. When i stopped and revved the engine it was still juddering. Straight away i thought coil pack. next morning i started the car and took the coil packs off 1 by 1. working from left to right ,i took the far right coil pack of and the engine sounded the same. Changed that coil pack but no change.Took out the plug and cleaned it,refitted the pack. no change.stopped the engine and restarted it. took the coil pack of again and refitted it while the engine was running and it worked. the engine sounded fine ,test drove it and all was good. About an hour later i noticed that under normal acceleration it was OK but if i 'put my foot down' it juddered again and at times felt like it lost power for a second. Coming to work this morning ,the management light came on and it juddered through every gear again but after about 5 minutes the light went out and the car drove OK again????
has anyone come across this problem or can give me some ideas of what it might be??
Thanks
Also i have a universal code reader but it showed no codes??
(Seat Leon cupra R)

Your code reader didn't get anything up and your eml is on?
Should have!
Anyone with vagcom near you? Are you getting smoke? Mines being a pain in the a** at the moment and I had juddering too and the temp sensor was to blame but it's still as flat as a pancake!
Take off the battery leAds for half hour.Sometimes resets the ecu etc and cures faults! Worth a try!

No sure if I can get access to a Vagcom and not smoking.
I'll try disconnecting the battery tonight but don't think it will help.
I changed the spark plugs last night but no difference.
Whats happening is when the engine is cold, its really bad. sounds and feels like its running on 3 cylinders. But as the engine gets warm it improves. once the engine is hot (oil temp min 80') it runs and sounds fine under normal driving. When I accelerate gently its fine but if I accelerate a little hard it judders???
does anyone have any idea's???

I'd still change all the coilpacks. Swapping them around might not highlight a faulty one if its only intermittently failing
