Ebay.
Audi/Skoda/VW/SEAT all use same frequency.
£40 should secure a new one. Then you need to get the blade cut, transponder sorted and key paired to the car.
Budget for £60 and you should easily cover it.

So is that £100 or £60?

I'm picking up my 2nd hand leon tomorrow, and its only got one key so I need a spare.

Range a couple of dealers and both quoted £107 for a new key, programmed to the car.

What the cheapest method to get a spare key? Doesnt have to be remote and I'm fine with buying off ebay etc...

If you have no key at all then it will be more expensive as you will need to get the transponder coded to the car, which you can't do yourself (as far as I know).

Don't know price tho I'm afraid...

I managed to get mine done for £40, but i suggest you budget for about £60.
Simple enough for you now? :p

Saw you coming a mile off didn't they?
You can reprogram to the car yourself in under 2 mins. Just need a spare key (doesn't have to be coded, just needs to fit your door lock)
I'd ask for a refund as thats a ludicrous price!

Cool. Thanks for all the info guys.

I think my plan is:

- Get key plus blank blade on ebay (or maybe get a flip key while im at it)
- Get key cut
- Program central locking myself
- Get dealer to program immobiliser chip. Hopefully they won't charge as much this way.

Oh yeh, the car's great!

Mine is a flip key, and it works fine.
Transponder was donated from my original speare key. Original remote key is now a "posh" spare key ;)

So one of them didn't need immobilser transponder recoding, and the other could have been paired by you on the drive way.
£90 for less than 10 mins work........
Wish i was earning £540 an hour

The FR doesn't come with them, only the Cupra.
Loads of info on this site about it, just search for "flip key" and answers will flock to you like sheep to a shepheard ;)
