Mystery wire.....

andyj

There's no F in Quality..
Looking about in the engine bay last night, I spotted a mystery loose wire that wasn't connected to anything.....

It's a single black wire with a red female spade connector on the end.

It comes out of the loom just above the starter motor on the right hand side of the engine bay (looking towards the back of the car)

Anyone else with a 1.6 SX Cordy who can check it out for me ?!?

It's for optional oil pressure gauge ;)

You can/could buy a kit from SEAT (altho it was for LHD) that had oil pressure and voltmeter that wen't in the centre console

It came with a VDO dual oil pressure switch that replaced the standard switch and the spare wire is for that gauge

so the oil pressure sensor is there, but not plugged in - or the wire is there, but no sensor?
