Mysterious VAGCOM Port..

Got my vagcom cable couple days ago, running a demo version of the software but can I find where to plug it in?

I've had a look on this forum as well as going through the pics on the ross-tech website, but my port is definitely not:
  • In either side fuse panel
  • in the blanking panel under the handbrake
  • behind any blank panels on the centre dash
  • and from what I can see (without ripping up any panels) its not under the glovebox or steering column.

Its a 2001 Leon 1.8T 20V, although i've read that they kept changing little bits on them around this time...

Anyone know if I need to take some panels up, to get to it? I'm guessing its probably under the steering wheel but any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

in the little cubby hole in front of the gear stick, under the centre console (where you keep you tissues and crap) there is a small plastic cover over it

Top job, thanks a lot Al. Easy when you know how!

Ran the software last night, although didn't tell me what I wanted...
The engine diagnostic light has been on for a little while now, think its the Coolant Temp Sensor, but bought the cable just to make sure.
Downloaded the 409 version of vagcom from RossTech website, and ran it, but no faults found.
It does say the unregistered version has 7 thousand codes loaded, I'm wondering was my fault not found because the fault code isn't loaded?

Cheers
