My VAG-COM HEX-COM (CAN) cable

My laptop today decided to have a hard drive melt down

Do i just have to install the software again when my lappy is all running again and my cable will work as it did before ??

Or do i have to mess about with serial numbers now ??
Ive not had to format or change hard drives in the past so this problem is a first for me.

From what I recall the cable should act as a dongle for the software and so you won't need serial numbers when you install it. The easiest way will be to connect it up and see what happens.

The HEX series cables are dongle interfaces. All you need to do is to download the software, do the options Test thing and you are back in business.
