hi all, wondered if anyone may be able to help. 90% of the time there Is no warning light on but randomly when driving it will suddenly throw the traction light on and it stays on until you stop and turn the ignition on and when you restart the car it stays off. then a few days later it will do the same again. not got access to vag com so don't know if there is any codes stored atall.

also it doesn't affect the way the car drives atall. just the annoying light comes on and stays on :(

p.s this is a 05 plate mk1 leon cupra r 225

Maybe a dud abs sensor?

Not long picked a lcr up so I'm not 100% clued up about them

same here mate, only had it a couple months so not 100% clued up yet either. if it was a dud abs sensor id expect the abs light on aswell as the traction light and not just the traction on its own?

Where are you based bud?

The easiest way to diagnose most problems are to scan it and to find the codes and go from there bud :)

Leicestershire pal. yea ive got a mac tools code reader but typical vag stuff not many readers will talk to them, and guess what... mine don't lol :( don't know anyone with vag com and only had the car aprox 2 months so not had chance to purchase vag com for myself yet

I've had a similar issue to you. Took it to a good friend of this forum (maybe not for the mods) and he did a diagnostic for me. I thought a ABS sensor had gone because the brake pedal was dancing when the light showed and I was braking. In actual fact it was the steering angle sensor was reading intermittently and as such even after I had reset it after a few miles it would appear again. I've just had it changed, expensive but at last after about a year the brakes are back to normal. Horrah!
