in fact I got custom 8.5:1 compression pistons cos the fuel here is quite bad, although on race days I'll start using 116octane fuel when running high boost

Hi ! I'm from Malta, Europe, just down off Italy !! SEqshift works really well, nonclutch support works really really well with DTA. I got an SQS dogkit as well from my good friend Petr in CZ of www.sqsracing.com . I wanted to do something new, so I inflated my 5door 'family car' !!

Aha.. my seqshift was mated to a rather nasty quaife dog box... should have gone with petr's gears but they were too short geared for my use tho at the time. Seqshift worked ok, but did become a pain in the neck. H pattern these days again on B&M shifter and its a faster change.
How are you finding the S60 as this is on my list of things to move to I think on my 20vt

launch control, traction control etc etc all built in, switchable maps....

Top motor friend. :worship:

I found SQS gears very good, quite noisy gearbox but very pleasant I must add. It so noisy that I must scream to the one sitting near me to communicate !! But gearshifting is perfect, even rev dropping is very low, so it keeps boost and power up high gear after gear.

The DTA S60 is quite new, but very easy and user friendly. It has all the EXP48 features, and includes new ones such as antilag, traction control and boost control. I use antilag, although I have to practice more on the line, and am getting familiar with the boost contol, which I'm going to use multiple solenoids with that. Just make sure that you buy the latest available, just becuase they keep on improving the software , so the fresher the better

Do you know what figures can be squeezed out from a 1.8T 20V lump ? race prepped i mean, with aftermarket rods, pistons, ecu, etc.... Cos i bought one for my friend when i was in CZ, to fit on his ibiza as well, he's doing it with DTA, 880cc injectors, large intercooler etc, but he's not building the block for now

My turbo is a full size Turbonetics T61 with stage 5 exhaust housing and 0.8A/R. Boost is controlled via a 48mm Turbosmart external wastegate. I have a Raptor blowoffvalve. The block is 2E, sleeved with special neumonic cylinders, Wiseco 83mm 8.5:1 pistons, Pauter chromoly 159mm rods, ARP hardware all-round.The crank was knife edged, lightened and balanced. The intake plenum is custom, high volume, with individual internal bell mouths per port, 72mm throttle. Custom s/s exhaust highflow manifold. The head is ABF, extensive head porting , chambers reshaped and gasflowed to 142cfm @10"H2O. New hightemperature valve seats, 2mm oversize to accomodate 34mm intake s/s, and 30mm exhaust inconel valves. The valves have just 5.5mm stems, for increased port airflow and weight reasons. New 5.5mm guides, titanium retainers, HP double springs, and viton seals. Cams are from KR stock so far. i will change those when I switch to solid lifters. Highflow intercooler, DTA S60 ecu, water injection, electric Mezerie water pump, uprated oil pump, wasted spark ignition, 9mm Taylor ht leads. I have 2 x Holley 255litre/hour fuel pumps in my surge tank, which pass fuel through a highflow Aeromotive filter, and finally I have a set of 1300cc high impedance injectors. Drivetrain- 6spd dogbox with sequential shifter, 228mm custom 600lbft cerametallic 6 puck clutch, aluminium flywheel, and stage 5 driveshaftshop.com axles. The M&H cheater tires are DOT certified so they are "street legal". one last little detail, I chopped off 180kgs from my car since the body is all made of carbon fibre !! Drysump and new cams are on my wish list

I fitted a glove box light on my car! :p

I totally agree with you mate ! Malta is so small, and not much places to speed up here. Mainly when I want to abuse it I go to the strip, cos roads here are so short that it is not even worth the risk. I do drive it on the road but(mosltly) sensibly !!
