Hi all, here is a few pictures of my newly acquired seat. It's a 2004 model with the following mods:
Miltek n decat
Airfilter (jr I think ?)
Silicon hoses
Neuspeed anti roll bars
Polybushes
Badger 5 remap at 270 bhp (flywheel 240 at wheels)
Lowering springs on standard dampers.
The car goes really well, has loads more grunt than my old civic type r and doesn't sound too bad either. Myself n my wife have decided to go to the nurbourg ring in June for a few laps as neither of us have been there. So I'm going to do a few small jobs to get it ready.
The car currently rides on Avon Tyres which are basically on the wear bars on the front so I ordered som vredstein Verdi ultras today to hopefully give some more grip and at least be legal. I'll put a small review once their fitted of what I think.
I'm hoping to purchase some 2nd hand cupra r suspension from a fellow forum member to increase the front suspension travel because as you can see in the photos there isn't much room for compression over bumps and the old standard shocks are past their best. I generally prefer a car with more suspension travel more like a rally car as opposed to low and hard more like a circuit racer etc. A well damped firm car that is predictable and has travel gives me confidence to I can concentrate on getting the right line etc as opposed to avoiding bumps like I have to do now.(within reason)

I'm hopefully going to be purchasing some b6 bilsteins for the front to sort out the damping and give the car somemore travel and ground clearance for speed bumps etc too if funds allow!
Have any of you guys done the ring? I'm looking forward to it! I'm not looking to break any records but to just have a good experience.
I'll up load some more pictures of my new toy as soon as photobucket stops playing up! ;)

Can't help with the car but am very interested to hear your thoughts on suspension once changed. I'm gonna be in the market for suspension soon but not looking for anything low and stiff.

Been to the Ring a few times and it'll blow you away! I can guarantee that.

Before I went I had done thousands of laps in games. My first lap, for a few brief seconds I lost where I was at one point! Wierdly though, the more laps you do the more like the game it becomes.

The karussell? Looks so lame in pics. The first time I approached it I actually said "**** that! I ain't going in there!" And then chucked it in lol.

If you can, maybe get a passenger lap with someone before you go out yourself. Enjoy!

Looks around 30mm if you don't want it to low you could upgrade the front roll bar and add a rear one as well

Hi, cheers. 30mm sounds about right. It has neuspeed front rear anti roll bars!

Hoping that it will ride much better over compressions etc with standard springs and that the bilsteins will be a big improvement. The bilsteins I've got/had fitted to other cars tend to make them 'feel' lighter in the way the car drives and responds. If that makes sense. At the moment with the worn dampers it feels quite heavy and bouncy/not that in control.

Hello, had two front vredstein ultrac vorti s fitted this afternoon. first impressions they look quite good with a lot of rubber on the outside edges for more grip/rubber contact when cornering hard. I've done about 50 miles today in the dry and wet. In the dry the Tyres bite much better than the old worn out Avon zz somethings and under hard acceleration the traction light only flickers in 2nd gear if any small bumps in the road etc otherwise it puts all the power down. In the wet I was surprised how much better they were than the old earn avons. Roundabouts the car held it's line a lot longer and when you give it the full beans only the occasional flicker of traction light in 3rd gear. To be fair the car pulls really well and I'm well happy with the £202 a pair fitted. It's a good start. Cheaper on the net maybe but for the hassle of waiting for delivery/fitting etc I didn't mind paying few quid more.

The springs are yellow so assuming lowered. Pictures of other cars with standard suspension do look higher than mine?? Who knows? Whilst having Tyres changed I noticed that when the car was jacked up there was about 6 inches of suspension droop but prob only a few inches for compression. I think the car needs to be sitting about mid way in the suspension travel. My guess is about 30-40 mm higher?? Low definitely looks better though.

I did two laps in my old 200sx it was the best experience I ever had. Absolutly loved it. I would have done more Laps but my turbo started smoking!! 11:05 was my best lap time. Sadly you join and leave in the middle of the strait so you can start your times lap flat out like they did on top gear.

B6 bilsteins arrived this morning from dpm front only due to funds.(top speed delivery) and just need to pick up some springs this afternoon (standard ride height lcr springs) and then hopefully my spring compressors will arrive tomorrow ready to start the fitting! Will keep updated if anyone interested of the results!

This mornings job was to change the suspension. I removed the front struts without too much hassle and replaced the springs with standard new cupra r springs and bilstein b6 front struts. Re connected the neuspeed anti roll bar. Changed the rear springs for new cupra r springs but I retained the dampers which were on the car and were in good working order.
Test drive- I drive the car over a few speed bumps by my house to see if any knocks etc but all seemed good so I went out for a little spin. The car over the speed bumps was far better as it now has more travel and the shocks are damping well. Over faster roads the car remains composed and relatively flat around the corners and over bumps and undulations in the road it is far superior to what it used to be. The suspension will need a few more miles to settle etc but I'm well happy. You can know choose your line etc without worrying too much about bumps and stuff in the road!
Looking forward to having a b road blast soon!

Appreciate the feedback, when I do get round to the suspension I'll probably do something similar with minimal drop if at all.
