Hi all,
Basicaly I bought my leon cupra about 2 months ago from a dealership in london which i had spent 6months looking for and I payed 9k. Was an O2 plate 37k on the clock full black leather interior, cupra r kit on it, was lowered and remapped by amd technik. Was running at 245 bhp was my dream car tbh been after one for ages because there fast, not to bad on insurance and they look very nice but most of all there not over the top. Any way to cut along storey short when we had realy heavy rain last saturday i got cought up in the flash floods which obvoiusly got stuck in. At 1st we just presumed the engine would need drying out as all the electrics still worked so we left it until monday, but when we checked still no look so I rang the insurance company. The insurance gave me a call yesterday telling me they couldent fix it and they were sending it to a SEAT specialist but then I got the news today that its going be a rite off. (the news I didnt want) Its just amazing as you think such a little problem could be so big and im absoultly gutted. The guy from the garage said it was to do with an electrical problem inside the engine but im no mechanic so I dont realy have a clue but im guessing probably something to do with the engine management system. Ile let you know the exact problem when I get the report.

Surely there isnt more than 5grands worth of damage to it, i would find out what parts are needed to fix her and get a seperate quote and then go back to the insurer. Theyre very quick to write cars off these days.

I know how you feel though mate I found my dream car and lost her in an accident and the insurers sent it to the scrap heap, gutting isnt it.

give us a list of the modifications to get 245bhp out of an LC too pls  :)

does seem rather quick to write it off.. if that is the case hope you get the money out of it, and not what the insurance peeps say its worth. Also hope you have all your mods covered on ur insurance!
