Yet another build thread! I created this to keep track and post my pictures, hopefully some of you find it useful or enjoy it aswell!
I picked up my Cupra 290 2nd hand completely standard, I'm hoping to get a lot done and have decided to fully embrace the copper/bronze and see where it goes!

Big week, went in to iTint Glasgow for limo tint on all windows behind the driver, and dark smoke on all the lights, including front fog lights, rear spoiler light and rear reflectors. Absolutely love the look, and its kept the interior much cooler in the sun as well. If anyone in the area wants tinting done, I thoroughly recommend these guys, quick professional and a good price for the workmanship.

Have you tinted your headlights aswell? Surely tinting all your lights reduces their light output and makes it harder to see the road ahead, and be seen from behind, at night or in winter? I am all for mods, I just have no clue why people do this.

I was in 2 minds, but with LED lights now they show through almost the same, and in my opinion the improved looks massively outway the slight reduction in light output. Also the front ones are lighter tint so the headlights aren't effected

Any pics of the lights with the lights on?

Looks nice, especially on the rear. And especially with that colour. I have a dynamic grey Cupra. It’s basically off white, so not sure if the tint would fit well. Have you ever been stopped by police for it? Did it cost much to have done?
Not been stopped with it, the guys that did it have a light meter and check its all road legal. It cost me 300 to have the windows, lights, reflectors, fog lights, and spoiler light tinted.

This weekends update is the wiper delete. I couldn't find a guide on the forum and the best video was on Youtube but wasn't very clear, so I've taken a few pics and made a rough step by step to help anyone that wants to do it in the future. It was relatively easy to do and took about an hour not including time for the sealant to set.

Remove the boot trim. This just has push fit clips, so you can pull them out without worrying about breaking them. I found it easier to remove the side panels first so I could see the clips.

Once the trim is removed, remove the plug from the washer motor

Remove the 3 nuts holding the motor on. The washers under the nuts are captive, so will remove with the nuts.

Open the top cover of the wiper and remove the nut holding the wiper onto the motor. The cover does come off if you need more access.

Remove the wiper. This requires quite a bit of force. I tried using a trim removal tool and it wasn't strong enough, so used a flathead screwdriver. Be careful of the glass and paintwork! I used an old teatowel as a buffer to stop scratches.
20220619_143938.jpg

Pull the motor out through the bottom.

Remove the rubber washer from the hole.

Reinstall the nuts. This isn't necessary, but I prefer it as then I wont lose them. If you are reinstalling them, nip them up so the washers don't rattle. I used the kill all wipers kit, which came with a plastic bag and zip ties to cover the plug. I tucked in under the boot latch cable loop as shown.

Reinstall the nut on the motor washer. Again personal preference, I just like to keep it all together incase I need it in the future.
20220619_144550.jpg

Clean the window around the hole, inside and out, as well as the inside edge of the hole. Mine had quite a lot of crap under the rubber washer. Using normal window cleaner for kitchens/bathrooms worked really well.
20220619_144943.jpg

Test fit the plug. It doesn't take long, but make sure you're happy getting it centred in the hole. Apply the sealant to the plug flange and insert the plug.
20220619_145946.jpg

Tape the back of the plug to hold in place, then fill the outside with sealant to ensure its waterproof. I used a wet wipe to get rid of the excess sealant from the glass. If you've ever used silicone sealant in a bathroom its exactly like that. Be careful when cleaning the excess that you don't push the plug out. I held the back all through this step just to make sure I kept it seated.

The sealant needed 1 hour to set prior to removing the tape, I left it about 3 to be sure. Remove the tape from the back and the film from the front.

Reinstall the boot trim, being sure to line up the clips with the holes before pushing them back in and you're done.

Pic of the back of the car. Love how clean it looks without the wiper!

Want to start adding little bits of copper to the car, so I've started with the pedals. I bought the OEM look footrest from Ali Express, but have yet to find the time to paint and fit it. Did the pedals this weekend and I'm really happy with how they came out!

Where did you get the spoiler side wings for the cupra spoiler?

As above, standard trim on Cupra 300 models onwards.

To be honest, I've been looking for these as I've just bought a cupra 300 and they aren't on it.
