My car after TIP fitting

I fit my TIP over the weekend and the car seems to have less torque in 1st and 2nd, but there is a noticeable difference in the other gears. Is this normal?

By that I mean less torque in the lower gears. I've got no warning lights showing and I'm getting a remap on sat, so should I not worry about it too much cos the car will drive differently after that anyway? It's just I love my torque! :drive1:

tbh i highly doubt you could notice a drop in torque in 1st gear...since theres barely any at all. its also highly unlikely that the new TIP would produce these differences, it cannot dramatically affect the cars performance by itself, especially if the car is on standard boost

possibely you knocked a vac hose somewhere during TIP fitment and now have a minor boost leak

I didn't literally mean it's down, just feels different. Probably more in my head than anything else. I'll check all my hoses and I don't think the TIP had any kinks in it.

Thanks guys,
Marc.

I checked the car and it seems it's one of the pipes from the N249 valve has snapped off. It's a small pipe that's covered in fabric (I couldn't think of better word). The top one that runs across the back of the valve down to a little metal thing on the side of the engine.

I tried refixing it but it's still the same as before. So is there any way I can get hold of a replacement? Maybe from a VW/Seat/Skoda dealer and does anyone know what the exact pipe is? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc.

Remove the N249 and engine cover and replace and reroute vac pipes at the same time.
In fact the pipe you talking about will be for the secondary air injection valve from the N112 valve on top of engine, is it the hose itself which has broke or the valve end/nipple which hose slides onto.
To replace it you just need some vacuum hose with either a 3mm or 4mm internal diameter, personally I'd replace all your vac hoses with silcone vac hoses from somewhere like Forge (3M for about £10).

Personally I've use 4mm I.D vac hosing from Forge and removed the N249 valve and vac reservoir and engine cover. Its up to you if you use 3 or 4mm vac hose.
If you get some silicon vac hose could have a look at mine on sat and do the same as below, would lend a hand aswell.
Heres mine

Thanks Steve. I'm considering removing the N249 but it seems like a lot of hard work for what it is. Don't wanna mess about too much with the car before the remap in case anything goes wrong. I've only just read your post so bit late now. I went down VW dealer on my way home from work and got some replacement vac hose. £7 for 1m. Oh well! Car seems to be running right now but unfortunately I don't have vag.com so I can't make sure for definite.
