i know its a golf! but a fair few guys are interested in this kit on there 1.8T so i thought id share my thoughts.

i bought the kit and installed it all myself which in total came to around £2000:

Prices may vary

1 x ATP GT28 Eliminator turbo + fitting kit= $1649

1 x ATP 3” big bore inlet = $239

1 x ATP High Flow Manifold = $305

1 x Genesis 550cc Injectors = $200

Shipping = $175

1 x Boost factory SMIC inc shipping = $600 ($500 if you PM slappynuts on the vwvortex forums)

Total: = £1672

(I did not get hit by any import tax or duty, all items where listed as warranty return and with a lower value. It’s at your own risk!)

Remap will cost £500+ at a guess depending on where you go, but I recommend Revo [y], also if you have Revo stage 2 you will only pay the upgrade fee. I can’t put this on the total as it could be different depending on your situation.

Recommended optional extras

If using stock location FMIC/SMIC then I would recommend a forge hose kit £110 posted (inc uk-mkiv membership discount)

Mikalor clamps all round, around £30ish

Carbonio (this has to be cut shorter) £100 posted 2nd hand. Other wise around £200 from awesome.

3” MAF housing 2nd hand £20

2nd hand S3 fuel pump which needs a bit of modifying is around £50 posted but I am going to get the APR fuel pump they use use on there stage 3 kits which is the same lph output but its brand new and don’t have to be modified. Cost I think is just over £100 posted, im not sure yet but I have ordered it from awesome.

I would advise to eliminate the rubber O ring connection which will cost around £20 inc clamps and silicone sleeve.

The total below is what it costed me with the 2nd hand Carbonio and APR fuel pump (when I get it). Shipping and other things may vary for you. The remap is also not in the total.

Total: £2052

as you can see there are allot of parts i added and i have kept to my budget of £2000ish.

i saved over 2k for the same kind of power that i would have gotten with IHI, i cant compare the 2 but i can say that this kit really does pull at around 3.5k all the way to red line.

the IHI could be a better quality kit, any maybe quicker spooling though i know there is a problem with the barings going if you wack too much boost through them.

but this kit is very smooth, very progressive and feels allot better all round than the k03s ever did.

hope this helps for any one who was/is interesting in this kit.

and it will fir a RHD car with no probs, just a bit of modding to the mani in my case and a few other tweeks, but got there in the end.

please hit me with any out standing questions.

the 550's mean less stress on the fuel pump - and have 'lots' of headroom

the 440's have a crap spray pattern too (so i'm lead to believe) so the 550's have a better atomisation

Where did you get the 550's from? ATP or USRT?

indeed you are correct,

first off i got the 430cc genesis 9correct sprat pattern) which could be run at 3.5 bar which would be around the same as 440cc bosch green tops (shite spray pattern)

then as m0rk said revo wanted to use the 550s instead, so i am going to send the 430s back to ecodetuning.com for refund.

check out the vid on this page for info on spray patterns

m0rk how is the install going on the leon? i see you have probs with the TIP hitting the gear box?

I'm liking the look of that intercooler... Does it connect pretty much direct to the stock turbo outlet/inlet mani?? I've got an AGU A3, so should be same configuration as yours was...

indeed, it does a good job, allot better than stock crap. i would like to have had a good front mount but the whole point of this setup was bang for buck, and i can always uprate later.

allot are running these with over 300whp on vortex.

things like FMIC are all on the to do list.

if you want one they are £300 posted so speak to slappynuts on vortex, and tell him i sent ya!

its 2 inches deeper than the forge unit and costs a shed load less. and yes its plug and play with a bit of trimming as you can see in pic

Saw your post on vortex earlier and I await for your figures and the responses on the forum, I expect you will get

"Man dem figures are low dude"

last week I saw a thread where a guy had circa 250bhp ish from a stock 1.8T with a KO3S.....quite literally amazing results :D

Then again we can't all be bragging on Vortex about 480bhp+ setups like Mr Brockbank ;)

Will you be getting a decent intercooler?

The 'big' smic's tend not to perform as well - and I've heard on the grapevine there's been some pretty high AIT recorded

havnt done any logging yet but i can feel a small bit of power loss on a long hard run, but its winter so its really not that bad. it just pulls and pulls.

like i said it was a budget for me as i couldnt afford an extra 400+ for a fmic.

i will be getting my internals done, port and polished etc, then mabe a diff.

the car is an on going project, when you start you never stop.

Would really love to see a MAF log when you can - very interested to see when it spools by and where it tails off...

If you don't keep them, perhaps you can convince Nick (or whoever at Revo?) to post them up?
