Music via bluetooth skipping

Hi

I have a 15 plate Leon that i connect my iPhone to, to play music. Since i bought the car every now and again the music is really laggy and skips a lot. Just wondering if anybody else has the same problem and if there is a fix?
It's done it since i got it but now i'm listening to my phone more in the car it's really starting to annoy me.

I move my phone from the little slot in the centre console to underneath the radio unit to even on passenger seat and it doesn't seem to do anything, any ideas?

I found the same if I had done a Apple iTunes update / software update

I’ve noticed a few times on my 65 plate FR. Not sure if coincident with Apple updates but generally I have found a reboot of my iPhone sorts it out.
